Wanted: MECA Policy Board Nominees
12.05.15 The Maine Chess Association is looking for candidates for all policy board positions. Officer positions (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) have terms of two years. Director terms are one year and are voted upon at annual meetings unless there is a vacancy which will be included in the ballot for officer positions. Anyone who is interested in being a policy board member should contact either current President Andy Bryan (bvbryan@aol.com) or Vice President Dan DeLuca (dcdeluca@yahoo.com).

Candidates need to be MECA members and willing to meet online once or twice a year to discuss the direction on this non-profit. All positions are volunteer at the moment and done in order to promote chess in Maine. Currently, the Maine Chess Association holds a yearly closed championship in April and oversees a player of the year competition. It also helps subsidize the promotion of Maine chess through the official, award-winning website of the Maine Chess Association ChessMaine.net.
Details of the responsibilities of officers and directors can be found in the MECA Constitution
MECA elections will take place online via ChessMaine.net from December 28-30, 2015.
