Lance Beloungie is 2014 Maine Chess Player of the Year!
12.14.14 Congratulations to Lance Beloungie who has won the year-long 2014 Maine Chess Player of the Year competition. Beloungie played in seven player of the year tournaments and amassed 43.8 points to take clear first ahead of his nearest rival Roger Morin with 42.4 points. Class prizes were also awarded: Curt Brock finished third overall and won the Class B prize, Darrell Butler won Class C and Joseph Powell took Class D.

Winning the Maine Chess Player of the Year competition is not only a testament to Lance's playing skills but also highlights his hard work, dedication, and commitment to Maine chess. We thank and congratulate Lance and the other winners in this year's competition as well as all those who participated.
The 2015 Maine Chess Player of the Year competition will begin with the first Maine chess tournament of the new year--the John Bapst New Year's Tournament.
