2nd Houlton Open Tournament Report

03.24.12 The 2nd Houlton Open, played on March 10th in Houlton, Maine, attracted six players all of whom were rated USCF 1600 or better. The four-round tournament was won by Roger Morin with 3.5 points. This event was the third Maine Chess Player of the Year tournament of 2012.

Roger Morin topped the field of six players at the 2nd Holuton Open, played on March 10th, 2012. He was nicked for a draw by the tournament's lowest rated player Glenn Snyder. Following Morin in the top spot were Richard Fontinha (3.0), Roger Peterson and Roger Hardison (2.0), Lance Beloungie (1.0), and Glenn Snyder (0.5).

This event was the third Maine Chess Player of the Year event of 2012; the next will be the Maine State Championship scheduled for April 21-22, 2012.
