Concrete Chess Table Installed in Lubec
03/08/25 Thanks to the initial inspiration provided by longtime Maine chess coach Steve Wong and the generous support of the Lubec Community and the Lubec Chess Club, a beautiful new concrete chess table has been installed at Stockford Park in the easternmost town in the US, Lubec, Maine.
A beautiful new concrete chess table now proudly stands at Stockford Park overlooking the Lubec Narrows and the Canadian Island of Campobello, New Brunswick. The table was manufactured by Doty & Sons Concrete Products, Inc. a company who has provided high-quality outdoor game tables to parks in New York City, St. Louis, and many other US cities and towns. A bronze dedication plaque will be affixed and a ribbon-cutting ceremony is in the works.
