WCC R10: Game 10 Drawn, It's now a Four-Game Match

12.7.24 Game 10 of the World Chess Championship started as a London System with Ding playing the tame 5.Be2. The game continued with a de-escalation of aggressions. It was in Ding Liren's hands to push for something more but he declined. After 14.Qxd8, Ding did not feel the need to take any risk. The game ended with a triple-repeat draw on move 36. Both players have two whites in the remaining four games.

World Champion Ding Liren prioritized safety in Game 10 of the World Chess Championship Match being played at the Sentosa Resort in Singapore. Playing like he had the lead in this Match, Ding was ultra-cautious and risk-free in his handling of a London System. With four games remaining in the classical portion of the Match and Ding the favorite in the rapid and blitz tiebreaks, the World Champion seems to be biding his time.

It will be up to Gukesh to find something in the remaining games as Ding has shown that he is completely satisfied with a draw even with the white pieces.

Game 11 will commence tomorrow, Sunday, December 8th.
