Hancock Grammar School Play for a Playground Tournament Report
6/24/24 On Saturday, April 13, 2024, 15 players competed in three US Chess rated sections (Open, U1000, and U400) at the Hancock Grammar School Play for a Playground Chess Tournament. Winners were: Isaiah Fallon (Open), Rebecca Stanley (U1000), and a two-way tie between Sadie Monahan and Elijah Hendershott (U400). Here's the tournament report with US Chess crosstables.

The Open section was a four-round G/30 + 5 event with three players. Isaiah Fallon took first with 4.0 points. Equal second was shared by Tobias Coffee and Sam Winter with 2.0 points apiece.
The U1000 and U400 sections both played as six-round G/10 + 2 events.
Current Maine Women's Champion, Rebecca Stanley, blanked the field in the U100 section with a perfect 6.0 points in six games. Jason Yang was just off the leader's pace with 5.0 points for clear second place. Three players finished equal third with 3.0 points: Shaurya Kumar, Finn Monahan, and William Good.
In the U400 section, Sadie Monahan and Elijah Hendershott tied for first with 4.0 points. Elliot Archer took third place with 2.5 points and Elam Monahan rounded out the crosstable with 1.5 points.
