03.02.24 The 2024 Maine Senior Chess Champion, Ray Haines, has started a gofundme page in order to raise funds to help him participate in the 7th Annual John T. Irwin Tournament of Senior State Champions scheduled to take place July 27-30, 2024 in Norfolk, Virginia. Please consider making a donation to help support Ray represent Maine on the national stage.

Thank you, Dan for posting this. Ray's played chess for over 50 years, founded the Fort Fairfield Potato Blossom festival human chess game and the tournament. He has given his support and knowledge to young people throughout Aroostook County. Now that he is retired, his sole income is just social security and I humbly suggest that you support this endeavor as a recognition of his many years of dedication to chess.
