Farmington Open 2023 Tournament Report

10.21.23 Forty players turned out for the Farmington Open Chess Tournament played on October 14, 2023 at the Farmington Community Center. The event offered three sections of US Chess rated play. Here is the tournament report from the Franklin Journal with results and crosstables. Thanks to all who organized, directed, and participated in this tournament.

In the top-rated Moose section, Aaron Spencer and Charlie Creswell tied for first with 3.5 points apiece. Just off the leaders' pace with 3.0 points were Eli Slaughter and Amrit Shakya.

In the fourteen-player Lobster section, An Phu Nguyen took sole first place with 3.5 points. Andrew Krag and Logan Balabuszko tied for secon with 3.0 points.

Loki Drisco was perfect on the day with 4.0 points in four games to take first in the Puffin section. Four players tied for second with 3.0 points including: Chase Ross, MECA president J. Paul Ciarrocchi, Kazmier Deterding, and Robert Moment.
