On Saturday, February 25th an impressive 15 Maine chess players competed in the 9th Queen City Tornado tournament in Manchester, New Hampshire. The event attracted 185 players in four sections: Open, U1800, U1400, and U1200. Here's the tournament report with US Chess crosstables. |

The 2023 Maine Scholastic Team Chess Championships will take place on Saturday, March 11th at Lewiston High School. Six sections of competition will be offered: High School Championship, High School Reserve, Middle School Championship, Elementary School Championship (K-5), Primary School Championship (K-3) and K-1 Championship.
