Harvard University School of Public Health Chess Cognition Study

12.18.21 The Harvard University T. H. Chan School of Public Health Program on the Global Demography of Aging is conducting a Chess Cognition Study. This study is being conducted in order to gather information on the cognitive abilities of chess players who are members of the United States Chess Federation. Here are the requirements for participants in the study and how you can enroll.



Researchers at the Global Demography of Aging Program at the Harvard University School of Public Health are interested in how chess performance calibrates with general cognitive ability and if chess performance can be used to measure the cognitive effects of aging and environmental exposures. image: Harvard University

Requirements for participation in this study

You may be eligible to participate in this study if:

You are at least 50 years of age
You have not been diagnosed with cognitive impairment
You are currently living in the United States
You are fluent in English
You are a member of the United States Chess Federation and have played at least one rated game since January 1st, 2019
