01.20.2021 The Maine Chess Association, together with the donations of two anonymous donors, has reinstated the George Cunningham Brilliancy Prizes for 2021 and 2022! The George Cunningham Brilliancy Prizes are meant to reward games from Maine Chess Association members that are aesthetically pleasing, brilliant, interesting, and instructional.

This round of prizes will be $50 per game, given once a quarter.

This announcement serves as a call to all Maine Chess Association members that the first Brilliancy Prize of 2021 will be awarded for games played in January, February, and March 2021.

Any game can be considered as long as they are submitted by a member in good standings. Games can be submitted to any member of the board, and can come from any competitive tournament setting. We look forward to seeing your games!
