Twenty-Five Years in the Making! Phish vs Audience Rematch

Exactly 25 years after the audience at the 1995 New Year's Eve Phish show at Madison Square Garden evened the chess match score at one point apiece, fans will have an opportunity for a rematch. You can watch that historic show and, at the same time, participate as one of the members of the audience who will try to win the match.

Introducing: The Maine Online High School Chess League

Maine Chess Association president Michael Dudley has organized the Maine Online High School Chess League. All Maine high schools that can field a five-player team are eligible to participate in the League which will compete from January 10 - February 26, 2020. Each team will play two games (one with each color) per week for five weeks followed by a semifinal and final round. The time control will be G/30 +5. Wyatt Hendrix vs Aaron Spencer 2020 Maine State Chess Championship Final Round

We bring you an interesting and instructive game from the final round of the 2020 Maine State Chess Championship played in Waterville on September 13th. This game propelled Hendrix to 4.0 points netting him a share of first place, and his second state championship title.

MECA Executive Board Election

Voting in the Maine Chess Association Executive Board election is now underway until December 15, 2020. There are 8 members of the Executive Board. Four members of the board also serve as officers: President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. You must be a member of the Maine Chess Association to vote.
