10.30.20 The 2020 U.S. Championship was held online from October 26-29. Wesley So topped the field with an undefeated 9.0 points in eleven games. This year continues to be one like no other.

An online U.S. Chess Championship with a rapid time control of G/25 + 5 was something none of us could have guessed would be the norm just one year ago. Nonetheless, this is where we find ourselves as 2020 comes to a close.

The Championship was played in round robin format and included twelve of the strongest chess players in the United States. Games were exciting and interesting despite--or on account of depending on your perspective--the faster time control.
