03.20.20 The Maine Chess Association (MECA) account on Chess.com will run an online rapid tournament tomorrow, Saturday, March 21st at 2:00 p.m. eastern. It will be five rounds of G/25 +5. The tournament is called "Maine Saturday Online Rapid #1." In order to join, people must join the MECA Members club.

We have been interested in doing something like this for awhile now and because of the social distancing being practiced for the time being we decided that this would be a good time.

To join this tournament, please follow these steps:

1. Go to Chess.com then click on Connect in the left-hand margin then Clubs. Type MECA in the search bar (located on the bottom of the Clubs window on the right of the page) and then click on the MECA members club.

2. Once on the clubs page, click join. The tournament organizer will manually accept all join requests so we don't have random people (trolls, etc.) joining.

3. After joining the MECA members club successfully, go to the "Live Chess" page just before the tournament starts. Click on the "tournaments" tab (in live chess) then the tournament should show up. Players won't be able to join unt
