Lincolnville Central School K-8 Tournament Report
02.10.20 A major ice storm not withstanding, the 2020 Lincolnville Central School K-8 Chess Tournament was held on Sunday, February 9th in Lincolnville. The Tournament attracted twenty-eight players looking to hone their skills in preparation for the Maine Scholastic Team and Individual Chess Championships that will take place in March. We bring you the illustrated tournament report with results and crosstables.

The Lincolnville Central School Chess Tournament offered three scholastic sections: a combined Grades 4-5 and 6-8 section, Grades 2-3, and Grades K-1.
After parsing out the results of the combined section, Walter Field finished as top Grade 6-8 player in the combined section with 2.5 points. Maggie O'Brien took second with 1.0 point.
Alexander Miller, Sam Blystone, and Miles Kaplan finished equal first in the combined section scoring 3.0 points in four games. Hector Clayton and Justin Massey finished tied for fourth with 2.5 points.
In the Grade 2-3 section, Victor Clayton was perfect on the day with 4.0 points in four rounds. Just off the lead in the Grade 2-3 section were: Dario Ravelli with 3.0 points and Oren Hurley with 2.5.
William Kaplan and Ben Pierce shared top honors in the Grade K-1 section with 2.0 points. Julian Funk and Arthur Senders finished equal third with a point apiece.
