USA Deaf Hockey Wins Gold and Deaflympics has Closing Ceremony
12.21.19 Team USA Hockey won gold by beating Canada 7-3 in the last game of the 2019 Winter Deaflympics in Chiavenna, Italy. Immediately following the game, the Closing Ceremony that ended the Deaflympics was held. We bring you our final report from Italy.

Team Chess Pairings and Results
Down one nil at the end of the first period, Team USA Hockey kicked it into high gear scoring seven unanswered goals. Late in the third period, on two Canadian power plays, the Americans gave up two goals for a final score of USA 7 Canada 3.
After nearly two week of competition, the Closing Ceremony of the 2019 Winter Deaflympics was held and the torch was extinguished. Battles were fought and friendships were made. As deaf athletes from all corners of the world return to their home countries many are already thinking of the next opportunity to compete on the international stage.

At the buzzer, Team USA Hockey cleared the bench to celebrate their win over Canada and the gold medal.

The medal ceremony was a bit more orderly. USA received gold, Canada silver, and Russia bronze.

Team USA captains are congratulated by coaching staff.

There were no shortage of dedicated hockey fans at the game.

"Valley" was chosen as the official mascot of the Games.

After the Closing Ceremony we were treated to a banquet for 1,000+ guests.

With plenty of Italian red wine.
