Matthew Fishbein Cracks 2300
12.02.18 Matthew Fishbein has had a great year of chess in 2018. After winning the State Championship in April, Fishbein's US Chess rating has continued to steadily rise and has now reached a career-high 2308. As far as we know, this establishes him as the second-highest rated native Mainer just behind Jarod Bryan's career high of 2343 and ahead of Stanley Elowitch's 2300.

On October 30, 2018, Fishbein's rating topped 2300 for the first time.
