08.12.18 The dynamic sister and brother duo of Cynthia and Leonardo Cui finished equal first at the Houlton August Open played in Houlton, Maine on Saturday, August 11, 2018. Although Cynthia won their individual encounter, Leonardo fought back in the final round to notch a win vs Ray Haines while Cynthia dropped her only game of the tournament to Wyatt Hendrix. Eight players turned out to compete in what has become a fixture on the Maine tournament calendar, namely one-day tournaments at the Art Studio in Houlton, Maine, This edition was the Houlton August 2018 Open.

Canadian players Cynthia and Leonardo Cui won the tournament with 3.0 points in four games.

Tied for third with 2.5 points were Roger Morin and Wyatt Hendrix.

Ray Haines was the sole 2.0 point getter for fifth place.

Ben Mock, Lance Beloungie, and Roger Hardison each put up a point for equal sixth.
