Bapst Impromptu Swiss #13 Tournament Report

Dan Robbins and Nathan Gates shared equal first at the Bapst Impromptu Swiss #13 played on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at John Bapst Memorial High School in Bangor. Apart from the winners, the biggest newsmaker of this tournament was Shannon Levesque, the new treasurer of the Maine Chess Association who, with a provisional rating of 100, took down Minh Nguyen rated 794 points higher.

Cui Siblings Win Houlton August Open

August 12, 2018

The dynamic sister and brother duo of Cynthia and Leonardo Cui finished equal first at the Houlton August Open played in Houlton, Maine on Saturday, August 11, 2018. Although Cynthia won their individual encounter, Leonardo fought back in the final round to notch a win vs Ray Haines while Cynthia dropped her only game of the tournament to Wyatt Hendrix.
