Wyatt Hendrix Wins Potato Blossom Festival Chess Tournament
07.26.18 Ten players ventured up to Fort Fairfield, Maine on July 14th to compete in the annual four round G/60 Potato Blossom Festival Chess Tournament. Topping the crosstable with 3.5 points was Hermon High School student Wyatt Hendrix with 3.5 points. Roger Morin was just off the leader's pace with 3.0 points; his only loss was to the tournament winner. Here is the illustrated tournament report with US Chess crosstable.

Three wins and a draw propelled Wyatt Hendrix to sole first place at the Potato Blossom Festival Chess Tournament played on July 14, 2018 in Fort Fairfield, Maine. As an added benefit, Hendrix padded his rating to an all time high of 1843.
Dropping his third round game to Hendrix, Roger Morin put up 3.0 points for sole second place.
Michael Porter and Nathan Gates scored 2.5 points for equal third.
Lance Beloungie and Michael Dudley (who pulled off a nice 339-point upsetover Ray Haines) tied for fifth with 2.0 points.
Todd Snyder, Ray Haines, and Roger Hardison finished equal seventh with 1.5 points.
Gary Tuck rounded out the crosstable scoreless.
