Ju Wenjun is Women's World Champion

05.20.18 Ju Wenjun has won the Women's World Championship Match played between May 2-20, 2018 in Shanghai and Chongqing, China. Just edging her opponent Tan Zhongyi in ten games by the score of 5.5 to 4.5, Wenjun became the 17th Women's World Champion.

The Match came down to the tenth and final game with the score 5.0 to 4.0 in favor of Wenjun. Zhongyi needed a win to force the Match into tiebreaks. Playing an unusual setup with Black, Zhongyi did all she could to unbalance the position but Wenjun steerd the game to the calm waters of draw in 70 moves,
