The Together Place in Bangor Seeking Chess Instructor

03.29.18 The Together Place, an 11-unit housing co-operative in Bangor run by and for low-income adult mental health consumers, is looking for a volunteer chess instructor. The mission of Together Place is to reintegrate mental health consumers into the community and to mainstream activities and their Executive Director believes that chess may play an important role in that mission.

The Together Place in Bangor is Seeking a Chess Instructor.

The Together Place is interested in a chess player who would help with chess games and instruction at 150 Union Street in Bangor right across from the 2nd Street YMCA.

Times would be between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on weekdays. The idea is to grow the program from a few interested players into a larger group that would eventually host and participate in tournaments. A regularly scheduled individual to play and teach chess would be key in attracting more participants from other social service agencies around the city.
