BAHSSCL Meet #2 Report
03.03.18 The second Bangor Area High School Scholastic Chess League meet of the season took place on Friday, March 2, 2018 at John Bapst Memorial High School in Bangor. The three schools competing were: Bangor High School, Hermon High School, and John Bapst. Bill Hartt, Wyatt Hendrix, and Catherine Rudnicki each won both of their games to top the crosstable.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of chess organizer Elisabeth Fowlie Mock and tournament director Mike Dudley, the Bangor Area High School Scholastic Chess League (BAHSSCL) continues to offer opportunities for high school players to take part in US Chess rated tournaments and league play.
Highlights from this event were three students playing in their first rated event and Sean Adams's (737) draw against his much higher rated opponent Ben Mock (1653).
Bill Hartt, Wyatt Hendrix, and Catherine Rudnicki went two-for-two in their games to share equal first. Ben Mock and Adams shared a draw and finished with 1.5 points. In the 1.0 point score group were: Samanthak Thiagarajan, Spencer Krebs, Kenneth Park, Tobias Coffey, Liam Moynihan, Leonardo Bintabara, and Jordyn Robinson. David Carroll, Benjamin Deschesne, and Blaise Horridge went scoreless this outing.
