The 2018 edition of the Stillwater Montessori MLK Jr. Day Chess Tournament was held on Monday, January 15, 2018. Fifty-two players competed in four sections: Open, K-12, K-8, and non-rated K-6. Here's the illustrated tournament report with US Chess crosstables.

Thirty-nine scholastic players came out to compete in the first US Chess rated tournament at the Lincolnville Central School in Lincolnville, Maine. The tournament was played in four sections: Grades 7-8, Grades 4-6, Grades 2-3, and Grades K-1. We would like to thank all the players, parents, coaches, and volunteers for making this premier tournament a great success and a big bow of gratitude to Lincolnville Central School for hosting. Maine's first chess event of 2018 was held at John Bapst Memorial High School in Bangor Maine on the frigid Saturday, January 6th. Braving the cold temperatures and biting wind, thirty-six players competed in four sections: Open, U1600, U1200 and U800. Here is the illustrated tournament report with US Chess crosstables.
