ChessMaine.net Receives 2017 CJA Award for Best USCF State Chapter Website
08.09.17 The Chess Journalists of America Awards, recognizing the best in chess journalism, were announced at the annual CJA meeting on August 4th, 2017. ChessMaine.net was honored in the Electronic Media category as the best USCF State Chapter Website. We are humbled to accept this award on behalf of all of those contributing their efforts to promote chess in Maine. We extend our congratulations to all award recipients and our sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Chess Journalists of America organization for its continued hard work and dedication recognizing the very best in chess journalism.

The 2017 CJA Prize List contains awards for: Chess Journalist of the Year, Best Story of the Year, Best Chess Column, Best State Magazine, and various categories under Best Book, Visual Arts, Newspaper Media, News or Features in Print, News or Features Online, and Electronic Media.

This is becoming old hat for you Dan but it is a state web site that the members can't compensate you enough for . Thank you for all the time you dedicate to maintaining the site .
The awards list page has links to several first rate stories . My favorite would be the Amsterdam Pub Crawl .
Wouldn't it be nice if the Portland Chess Club could do something similar using coffee houses along with the establishments serving alcohol .
