Bapst Impromptu Tournament Report
08.16.27 Fourteen players competed on short notice for the first Bapst Impromtu tournament held at John Bapst Memorial High School on Tuesday, August 15th. Ben Amar topped the crosstable with 3.0 points. He was closely trailed by Wyatt Hendrix and Ben Mock with 2.5 points. The second Bapst Improptu tournament is coming up on Tuesday, August 29th. The first in a series of mid-week tournaments, the Bapst Impromtu tournament, held on a Tuesday afternoon, was a great success.
Ben Amar, just back from two national tournaments, went unbeaten and untied to score 3.0 points in three games to take first place.
Scholastic powerhouses Wyatt Hendrix and Ben Mock tied for second with 2.5 points. In the 2.0 score group were four players including Nathan Gates, Brian Hurst, Liam Farrell and Leonid Wlodkowski.
Andrew Nevells, Linh Nguyen, Samanthak Thiagarajan, and Rajdeep Nayak each put up 1.0 point and Tom Sandford, Shannon Levesque, and Dhruv Jain finished in twelfth, thirteenth and fourteenth respectively.
