Introducing the Chess in Maine Schools Initiative

02.13.17 ChessMaine.net is pleased to announce the Chess in Maine Schools Initiative. We all know that chess teaches creative problem solving, fosters concentration, critical thinking, and positive self-esteem. We have seen firsthand the overwhemingly positive effects of scholastic chess programs on Maine's children particularly in rural and underserved areas. Now we are leveraging these insights to bring chess programs to eligible K-12 schools in Maine. Our first step has been the creation of a GoFundMe page. We hope you will consider contributing to Chess in Maine Schools.
