ChessMaine.net Partners with ChessKid.com for Chess in Maine Schools Initiative

02.20.17 ChessMaine.net has partnered with ChessKid.com to help establish and maintain scholastic chess programs in schools across the state. A kid-friendly, safe site with no ads, ChessKid.com is the online gold standard for teaching children (of all ages!) the game in an interactive, entertaining, and fun way. We are thrilled to team up with this outstanding organization to help bring chess programs to more schools in Maine through the Chess in Maine Schools initiative.

ChessMaine.net is super stoked to partner with ChessKid.com the #1 site for kids who love chess (and their parents & coaches too!) Learn, play & have fun on a site that puts safety first! Help bring chess to Maine schools! GoFundMe--Chess in Maine Schools

The Chess in Maine Schools (CiMS) initiative for academic year 2017-2018 will provide eligible schools, free-of-charge, functional, inexpensive chess equipment, a proven scholastic chess curriculum, year-long memberships to ChessKid.com, and technical support in establishing and maintaining a successful chess program throughout the academic year.

Application Process for a CiMS Package Grant
There will be an application process for schools to request a CiMS grant. The availability of these grants will be determined by the amount of fundraising the CiMS GoFundMe campaign can generate. We expect the application process for these grants to be limited and competitive. Watch ChessMaine.net for more information and details about applying for a CiMS Grant.

Purchasing a CiMS Package
If schools wish to bypass the grant application process, they can purchase a CiMS package directly. Details on pricing and specifics on equipment, curriculum, ChessKid memberships, and technical support will be forthcoming. Interested schools should send an email to info@chessmaine.net.

Donating to the Chess in Maine Schools Initiative
The success of this initiative is in the hands of our supporters. If you would like to make a donation, or like or share the campaign on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media, you can do so by visiting the Chess in Maine Schools GoFundMe page.
