Will Ravn Wins George Cunningham Brilliancy Prize
08.21.16 The George Cunningham Brilliancy Prize was established to recognize and reward games that are both aesthetically pleasing and technically interesting. Soon after the Prize's inception, a generous donor contributed a significant amount of capital to reward the player of the brilliant game with a $100 check. After poring over games submitted to ChessMaine.net, our crack GCBP Committee has selected Will Ravn's game vs International Master David Vigorito, played at the Saco Open on July 9, 2016, as the winner for this quarter.
Here's the interesting encounter between Will Ravn and IM David Vigorito in which Ravn agrees to a draw on move thirty-four although up a pawn.

I thought your draw against NM Dave Carter (also at Saco Open) was a much more interesting and deserving game for the award, but congratulations on your accomplishments.

That was a great played game will, except there's no way I could offer or except a draw in that position a pawn up against a master. Go for the win!
