Tom Sandford Retires from UMaine after 35 Years of Service
05.23.16 The University of Maine Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering honored Professor Tom Sandford with a retirement party on May 20, 2016 to thank him for his thirty-five years of dedicated service to the University, engineering education, and the field of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering. The ChessMaine.net community knows Tom as a tireless advocate of chess in Maine. He has served as a tournament director and organizer for many years and is a fierce over-the-board competitor. We wish Tom all the best in his retirement!
