Fishbein Tops Cheverus Quads

12.14.14 Cheverus High School in Portland hosted a quad tournament on Saturday, December 13th. Twelve players took part in three rated quads and five players participated in a non-rated quint. Cape Elizabeth High School student Matthew Fishbein scored a perfect 3.0 points in three games to take first in Quad 1. Bruce Sherwood scored 2.5 points in Quad 2 for the top spot there and Ben Peterson blanked his opponents to win Quad 3.

Cheverus High School has a long history of participating in scholastic chess at the state level.
