Blitz Chess Brunch Benefit in Blue Hill

04.10.14 On Sunday, April 6, the Blue Hill Consolidated School's chess team had a successful Blitz Chess Brunch Fundraiser. The Black Anchor Restaurant donated 60% of the proceeds to the team. The K-6 Maine State Championship team is raising money to attend the National Junior High Chess Championship in Atlanta later this month. There were about 100 people in attendance. Blue Hill students challenged the public to games of Blitz chess, and student musicians played their instruments for entertainment throughout the day. The team hopes to make this an annual event. The chess team thanks everyone who participated in this successful fundraiser!

Games were played throughout the day at the Black Anchor Restaurant in Blue Hill on Sunday, April 6th to raise money to send the 2014 K-6 State Champion Blue Hill Consolidated School Chess Team to the Elementary National Championships later this month in Atlanta.
