Anand Wins FIDE Candidates Tournament

03.30.14 The rematch is on. Vishy Anand has won the fourteen round FIDE Candidates Tournament held in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia to select the challenger to World Champion Magnus Carlsen in a match scheduled for later this year. Sergey Karjakin finished in clear second while Levon Aronian, the tournament's highest rated player and de facto favorite to challenge Carlsen, finished a disappointing equal sixth.
