Call for candidates - MECA elections

The 2-year terms for the current Maine Chess Association Policy Board will expire at the end of 2013. The Policy Board comprises four officers (president, vice president, treasurer, secretary) and four directors. Our current IRS status as a non-profit organization requires the Maine Chess Association to maintain this leadership structure.

We're calling for anyone interested in serving in any of these positions to send a note stating their desire to serve and indicating what position(s) they would consider. The term runs from Jan. 1, 2014 thru Dec. 31, 2015.
The duties generally include standard organizational functions as well as some planning and assistance for the Maine State Championship, the annual Chess Player of the Year, as well as providing advice and policy statements in support of various other chess-related activities in Maine.

The current Policy Board urges anyone interested serving or in getting more details on specific position requirements or duties to contact any of the current Policy Board members by email or in person.
