Houlton Player of the Year Event

01.29.13 January 12, 2013 was the date of the new year's first Maine Chess Player of the Year tournament played in Houlton. The event attracted sixteen players in two sections: open and U1200. Roger Morin and Max Berube tied for first in the open section and Stephen Burden was perfect in the U1200 section with 4.0 points in four games.

The tournament was played at The Art Studio in Houlton. Hence the art-adorned walls of the tournament room.


This event was a great start to the 2013 Maine Chess Player of the Year competition.
