World Championship Update After Round 10: Anand 5, Gelfand 5

05.25.12 World Champion Viswanathan Anand and challenger Boris Gelfand are in Moscow for the twelve-round 2012 FIDE World Championship Match. The first six rounds saw draw after draw as the players felt each other out and probed for weaknesses in their opponent's game. Then Gelfand drew first blood with a win playing the white pieces in Game 7. Perhaps even more surprising than Gelfand taking the lead (Anand is, by most popular opinion, the stronger player) was the way in which Anand regained equality--on the very next game in a mere seventeen moves! After the fireworks of games seven and eight, the players drew the following two games and are tied at five points apiece with two games remaining.
