Ninth Presque Isle Open Tournament Report
11.15.11 The Ninth Presque Isle Open was played at the newly-renovated Mark & Emily Turner Memorial Library on November 12th, 2011. The two-section nine-player tournament was won by two-time Maine State Champion Roger Morin with 3.0 points. In the Under 1200 section, Matt Norris and Tim Walker tied for first with 3.5 points in four rounds. Here's an illustrated tournament report with USCF crosstables and a selected game.

Roger Morin swept the field with three straight wins to take first place in the Open section of the Ninth Presque Isle Open that took place on November 12th, 2012 at the Turner Memorial Library in Presque Isle. Along with the win Morin was awarded with an increase in rating that now puts him at a USCF Expert level (USCF 2000). Trailing Morin were three players with 1.0 point: Ray Haines, Lance Beloungie and Roger Hardison.
In the U1200 section Mark Norris scored three wins and a draw for 3.5 points and a tie for first place with Tim Walker. Lois Morin took sole third place with 2.0 points. Josh Goodale and Airin Harmon finished fourth and fifth respectively.
