Maine Chess Player of the Year Competition for 2011
01.30.11 We are pleased to announce the Maine Chess Player of the Year Competition for 2011. Players will receive one point for each game played including any full point byes, players will also receive points from their tournament score (half point byes will not count). In order to be eligible for the Maine Chess Player of the Year competition, a player must be a MECA member. Membership rates are listed in the About MECA link on ChessMaine.net.

PI/Houlton Open - January 29/30
PI/Houlton Open - February 19-20
All Saints Winter Warmup - February 26 (Open Section) - Bangor
Maine Closed Championship - April 9-10 (Augusta area)
Portland Open - May (Portland)
ChessMaine.net Championship - June (Waterville)
Downeast Open - July (Portland area)
Eastern Maine Open - October (Orono)
First, second, and third place finishers in the competition will be recognized at the end of the year. Prizes will be announced based on the number of participants.
