12.15.07 Roger Peterson swept the field with a perfect 4/4 at the Washington County Chess Federation December Swiss played on December 15, 2007 at the Beacon of Light in Pembroke, Maine. The WCCF Swisses have been a boon for players in downeast, rural Washington county. These monthly tournaments directed by Alba Briggs III, usually attract around a dozen players with skill levels ranging from master to beginner. To anyone in Eastern Maine looking for some chess action in a fun, relaxed atmosphere, we urge you to take advantage of these events.
