Dr. K was great to listen to on www.chess.fm
He was willing to play blitz and discuss ideas with weaker players.

A good teacher, father, and chess enthusiast; I benefited from his friendship during his tenure at the University of Maine. He will be missed by many.

I played Danny one time back in the late 80's I believe and lost. During his time in Maine, I believe he elevated the overall quality of play of everyone who knew him and showed great passion for chess. I remember him as being soft-spoken and always very friendly and willing to share his knowledge on the game you probably lost. My condolences to all his friends and family.
