In Memorial: Harold Dondis (1922-2015)

12.14.15 It is with great sadness that we report the passing of one of Maine's great chess sons Harold Dondis. Harold was born in Rockland, Maine and educated in Rockland Public Schools. He graduated from Bowdoin College and Harvard Law School. Probably most well known for his Boston Globe chess column which he wrote for fifty years, Harold was a lover of the royal game. Donations may be made in his memory to the Rockland Public Library, Rockland, ME 04841 or the Boylston Chess Club, Suite B101, Norris St, No. Cambridge, MA 02140.
