1. e4 d5 2. exd5 Qxd5 3. Nc3 Qd6!? This is an teresting sideline that has increased in popularity over the last few years. 3. ..Qa5 is the main line.
4. Nf3 e5? This is way too loose. 4...Nf6 is most common here.
5. Bc4 Bg4?? This should lose immediately.
6. h3?? 6.Bxf7+! Kxf7 7. Ng5++-.
6... Bh5 7. Qe2 Nd7 8. O-O 8.g4 Bg6 9.Nb5 looks very strong.
8... O-O-O 9. d3 Ngf6 10. Be3 a6 11. Ne4 Nxe4 12. dxe4 f6 This looks natural, but it allows the white bishop to access the very annoying e6-square. 12....Be7 would have been a bit better.
13. Rad1 13.Rfd1 looks like the more logical rook, as White may later want to start a queenside minority attack.
13... Qc6 This looks awkward, but there is really no good place for the queen.
14. Bd5 Qb5 14...Qa4 may have been slightly better.
15. c4 Qa5 16. a3+/- Black's queen is in hell, and Be6 is a very strong threat.
16... c5? Although the position was already bad, this makes it totally hopeless. 16...Qa4 is probably the best try, keeping an eye on d7 and making sure b4 doesn't come with tempo.
17. Rd3 Qc7 18. Rb3?! The direct 18.Rfd1 is simply crushing.
18... Nb6 19. Be6+?! This wastes time. 19.Rc1+/-.
19... Kb8 20. Bd2 Bxf3?! There is no need to take this knight. 20...Qd6 21.Bd5+/=.
21. Rxf3 Rd6 22. Bd5 Nxd5 23. exd5 Be7 24. Rg3 Bd8?! 24...g5 is better, preventing f4.
25. f4 Re8 26. Re3! Qe7 27. Bc3 e4 28. f5! 28.Re1 f5 29.Be5 Bc7 and Black will have a little compensation for the exchange.
28... b5? Now in addition to losing the e-pawn, Black will have a horribly weakened king. The situation is totally hopeless.
29. Rf4 Qd7 30. b3 Ka7 31. Rexe4 Rxe4 32. Qxe4 32.Rxe4 looks more natural.
32... Qf7 33. Qe3 Bb6 34. Re4 Rd7 35. Re6 h6 36. b4 Rc7 37. bxc5 Bxc5 38. Bd4 Qf8 39. Re8 39.d6 wins instantly, though of course 39.Re8 wins also.
39... Qd6 40. Bxc5+ Qxc5 41. Qxc5+ Rxc5 The d-pawn can't be stopped.
1-0
